Hey, want to drive more traffic to your site, then all you need to do is . . . . I wish I could start this piece and continue to give you a hot fix. Honestly there is none. I have looked around for a while now. However, I can tell you some of the ways that have worked for me through the years.
 
First and foremost, have a quality site. By quality I do not mean that you have it designed by the most expensive company. It can be a very basic site but it should be easily navigable, purpose of the site should be clear from the home page, products should be clearly listed and descriptions available, preferably photos and pricing depending on the product and contact details as people would like to know where you are based before they deal with you, sitemap for the search engine bots to index your pages. These are the very basics that the site must have. Over and above this you may add as many details you want. The more information that you have on the site, better the chances of return visitors. It is always a good idea to have an industry news page where you can put information on the latest happenings in your industry.

So you have a site ready now to the big task of promoting it. First of all submit your site URL to all the major search engines manually. These engines will put your URL on their crawling list. The bots will crawl through your site using your sitemap. Hence, ensure that your pages are interlinked well. You can then try and list your site with the maximum no. of the free web directories available. If you are willing to spend then there are quite a few paid web directories also. The best web directory being DMOZ, but they do not accept any paid listings. The listings are strictly on the quality and merits of your site. I know that you must have read this before but yes "Content Rules".

Another way that always helps drive the best quality traffic is back links. These are incoming links to your website from other sites. The best way to have quality back links is request any of your industry friends to add links to your site on their URL. One can also create quality back links by visiting blogs and site of related topics and leave comments. Generally the comments always support or provide space for adding your URL. However, the comments should have some quality matter as otherwise these may get moderated. Always try and take the discussion or the topic further with your comments. Only comment if you are familiar and know the topic well.

Following these points will steadily build your back links and increase your ranking with the search engines. Do keep in mind, this does not happen overnight. It takes time but these are sure fire methods that have worked for me and many others before me. Try them. All the best.
